I live in NY and it can get actually cold in the chill and my son doesn't like to wear alot of great clothing so the coat is exact for him. Its thick sufficient to keep him warm on cold days lacking having him feeling like a stuffed failure. He is normally a size 14 but I approved this in a size 18-20 since I thought it would run small but it in fact ran true to size so its a modest big on him but he permanently has time to grow into it.
